A fantastic walk with stunning views. You can almost feel
the remoteness of this part of Cornwall and it's easy to imagine
a sailing ship being blown onto the vicious teeth of the cliffs
in days gone by.
For
this walk, you need OS Landranger 190, Bude and Clovelly.

Watch out for Lundy to the Northwest, there's
the little bridge that crosses the border into Cornwall. Morwenstow
is one of my favourite parts of Cornwall and Hawker's Hut is
a perfect setting for "Song of the Western Men". If
you're very lucky, when you get back to your car at Welcombe,
and you're sitting with a nice cup of tea, relaxing, someone
in the tatty camper van next to you will play a didgeridoo as
well!

To get there, drive northwards along the A39, through
Kilkhampton, until you reach Crimp. Turn left at the signpost
to Morwenstow and Shop, follow this road to the end, when you
will reach a crossroads. Go straight across, then past a farm,
after which the road degenerates into a rough lane. Soon afterwards
you will see an area to park your car.

Retrace your steps back to the A39, then head north to
Welcombe Cross and turn left at the signpost to Welcombe. Follow
this road, driving through Mead and, shortly after, watch out
for a sharp turning to the beach on the left. Take this, later
avoiding pot-holes before arriving at the car park.
