WELCOMBE
TO TREBARWITH STRAND
This
part of the Cornish coastline is one of the most strenuous; there
are paths as steep elsewhere, but not in such profusion. The
highest point of the entire walk is along here: High Cliff -
a name we remember vividly! While you're gasping for breath at
the top of a climb, look around, the scenery is magnificent and,
away from the tourist centres, there are very few people either.
This
is another one of my favourite parts of Cornwall: Totally unsurpassed
for wild, rugged coastline and jagged, teeth-like rocks ready
to catch the unwary sailor. Peer over the cliff edge at Morwenstow
and be very afraid! Visit Hawker's Hut and admire the view.
