St Ives to Zennor

From your car, head towards The Tate Gallery, and just follow the coast!

Continue round Clodgy Point with its last views of St Ives, then past Hor Point and Pen Enys Point, until just after Carn Naun Point you will see The Carracks ahead, just past Treveal Valley. Treveal is well-known amongst Cornish birdwatchers for its spring migrants: The birds often get blown along the north coast, and Treveal is one of the few valleys amongst the high cliffs where they can fly in. Just round the corner, you find The Carracks, offshore rocks that are a good spot to find seals, especially in spring.

As you round Mussel Point, look ahead and you'll see where you're heading: Zennor Head; it doesn't look too far, but this is an optical illusion! It's beautiful scenery, but by the time we reached the Head, we were very tired. Then, all you have to do is walk inland to Zennor; and that's not just round the corner, either. There is a good pub in Zennor, and don't forget to visit the church and look at the carving of the Mermaid of Zennor.

All in all, a long and strenuous walk, but very satisfying!
