GWITHIAN
TO LANDS END
From the
golden sands of Gwithian, to the remote cliffs of Lands End,
this part of Cornwall is full of contrasts. The sheltered waters
and smooth paths that lead to the well-known town of St Ives
quickly give way to rough seas, difficult paths and hard walking.
After Pendeen, the scenery is transformed into an alien vista
of tin mines and their waste; which in turn leads to the only
true cape in England, Cape Cornwall; and so to the destination
of thousands of summer visitors, Lands End.
